Why You Shouldn't Drink Too Much Water!
There are vociferous pros and cons about the amount of water that we all need to drink.

The 'eight glasses a day' phrase is found most commonly and become an accepted rule of thumb.  But it ain't necessarily so. What you eat during the day in the way of regular food will provide about 20% of your daily water requirement. And the normal liquids of all sorts -- from coffee to milk to juices to beer and wine -- also provide some of the rest of your daily needs.

Some cautions are essential here. If you have any kind of kidney function problem, you may be stressing your kidneys by consistently drinking eight glasses of water. But even if you have kidney disease, physical activity will make you lose moisture through your breath and sweat and needs to be replenished. So you need to pay attention to your body's thirst signals.

If you have heart disease, too much water consumption can dilute your blood electrolytes and possibly trigger a heart attack!

Some liver and adrenal diseases require strict adherence to fluid control and restrictions.

And, as we get older our sense of thirst diminishes and makes it difficult to know if we need to drink more or not.

Those are scary scenarios. It is not our intention to scare ourselves or anyone else. So we did some research and have found a couple of ways to 'know' if our bodies are sufficiently supplied or not.

One, take a look at your urine before you flush. If it is a pale yellow or nearly colorless, you are fine.

Two, lightly pinch the skin on the back of your hand. When you release the skin, if it stays 'tented', you need more fluid. If it flattens out immediately after you release the pinch, you're fine.
