Strawberry smoothie recipe
Whether it is summertime or you have just come in from a fierce walk in the mall, a really great treat awaits you when you use this strawberry smoothie recipe.
Most strawberry smoothie recipes will have you mixing many of the same ingredients, like ... duh, strawberries ... and ice cream, yogurt, or milk. But, did you know that if you make a smoothie solely with fruits alone, you can improve the healthfulness of the smoothie and not impact your system so badly?
So what if the dictionary definition of a smoothie is: a thick smooth drink consisting of fresh fruit pureed with ice cream or yogurt or milk. Everything changes, so why shouldn't our strawberry smoothie recipes? Try making your own combinations of fruits that complement the strawberry and come up with a brand new strawberry smoothie recipe!
And if fresh fruit is not available, do not forget ye old freezer. Your grocer keeps frozen fruit available year 'round and while fresh is best, second best is frozen. You do not even have to include the ice cream if you use frozen strawberries to make your strawberry smoothie recipe come out perfectly! I suppose technically, if you don't use a milk product in the slurry, it becomes a 'slush', but school is not in session today. Let's be brazen.

Strawberry frappe smoothie
2/3 cups oat milk (or use soy milk)
1 cup pineapple juice
2/3 cups apple juice concentrate
1/2 teaspoons vanilla
6 large frozen strawberries
10 ice cubes
Blend well, adding 1 tablespoon flaxseed oil and 2 teaspoons wheat germ, if desired.
